A Cottage Style Valentine's Tea

When I think of roses, cottage style, and Shabby Chic the names Laura Ashley and Rachel Ashwell come to mind.

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with their line of gorgeous bedding and home décor.

This week I seemed to find quite a few cottage style items so I thought, "Why not use them in a Valentines  tea?".

Yesterday was a gorgeous day.  The afternoon sun was streaming through my living room window.  Perfect setting for tea!

And all the better that my sofa has a Laura Ashley kind of feel.

Friday I found four of these pretty plates by Homer Laughlin at our local thrift for $1.50 each.

Saturday I attended a vintage sale and fell head over heels in love with this chippy pink grate.  I also scored a white one.  Fun way to display my pretty plates.

I also picked up these gorgeous flowers in one of the booths.  The blush pink made my heart swoon!

What could be better than a little tea and conversation?

An exclusive tea, Empress Afternoon Blend.
I bought a box years ago when friends and I attended High Tea at the Empress hotel in Victoria, Canada.  What a fun trip!

I found this cup recently for $6.  Another thrift find.

I love how my IKEA throw drapes on the floor.

I decided that this thrift find teapot would work perfectly with the dishes.  It pulls out the pink and lavender shades.

A couple years ago I paid $10 for it and didn't notice until I got home that the little handle of the teapot on top was broken off.  I twisted a piece of lavender ribbon and added a rose.

Problem remedied!

I love the sweet scent of Stock.

I scored these two beauties the same day as the Homer Laughlin plates for $.75 cents each.

Although not the same color, they resemble the roses in my sofa.

Saturday evening my hubby brought in a package that the mailman had left in the driveway.

It was my darling give away win from Kris at Junk Chic Cottage.
I don't know if you can really call it a win. lol!  You need to hop over to the link to know what I am talking about.  It all has to do with that sweet #7!

Anyway I love it!  The pretty heart is a lavender sachet.

A big thank you to darling Kris!
She also sent a sweet vintage Valentine and notepad.

I'm leaving you with these 4 beauties that I found a couple weeks ago at a thrift shop in Pocatello, ID.

Hadn't had a chance to share them on my blog and they definitely have a cottage feel!  Each one set me back $3.  I'll never pass up a bargain like that!

Too many plates waiting for tea time. lol!

Wishing you a week full of love and roses!

hugs,
Jann
