* I have decided to do a review on a single only. Reason one being that I have not finished listening to an entire album to do a new review and reason two being that this single deserves a review of its own.
Kelly Rowland has not been on the music scene since the 2007 release of her album "Ms. Kelly", but that will change with the 2010 release of her new album. From the album comes the lead single "Rose Colored Glasses".
The first single is a great choice that will be sure to put Kelly back in the top portion of the Billboard Hot 100 chart again. The song shows Rowland attemping a ballad once again after putting out many dance tracks in the past few years, her last being "When Love Takes Over" with David Guetta. "Rose Colored Glasses" is an emotional cry about how Rowland knows how the person she loves really is, how people "know the lies" and she "knows the truth". After a minute through, people will be able to relate with the song and actually start to feel what Rowland is feeling. The track is packed with nice beats and great production, but it is not overdone to the point where the lyrics of the song get lost. Everything comes together perfectly to create an amazing song that can cross over into all genres.
Compared to her first international single off the new album, "Commander" which also deserves a listen, "Rose Colored Glasses" is a nice, slow, change for Rowland who I think is still trying to make her own mark in the music industry. In my opinion, with her two new singles as evidence, she will indeed make a big impact now.
The single is great, and contains amazing and beautiful vocals from Rowland and gets a rating of 94%.
