Young Thug & French Montana's Beef Dates Back To 2019

French Montana, Young Thug and Kendrick Lamar

Young Thug and French Montana engaged in a social media squabble on Wednesday, after Montana claimed that he has more hits than Kendrick Lamar. The Moroccan rapper made the comments during an interview with Complex, which triggered a tidal wave of reactions from the internet, and a subsequent explanation about why he compared himself to Kendrick Lamar.

Following their back-and-forth, Thugger pulled out the receipts from August 2019 that revealed troubles been brewing. In a series of DMs Thugger sent to French, the ATL rapper makes it clear that he's not playing. However, the DMs reveal that there may have been a woman at the center of all of this.

“If we just talking about anthems!! Me vs. Kendrick hit for hit! I believe I can go neck to neck!!! Been making hits for a long time!! It ain’t my fault I believe in myself,” he tweeted on Tuesday

In a followup tweet, Montana noted that he has love for Lamar and that his comments weren’t directed solely at the Compton MC. “That’s not just for Kendrick that’s to anybody they put in front of me, and ask me that same question. What [you] want me to say lol? It should be your attitude too.”

“You do not have more hits than Kendrick Lamar.”

But his comments didn’t sit well with Thugger, who fired back at the Coke Boy in an Instagram video on Tuesday. “Stupid ass ni**a say he got more hits than Kendrick Lamar,” said Thug before adding, “Fool.”

That’s when an all-out feud erupted on social media, with the two going back and forth dissing each other. Thugger even threatened to call up Meek Mill and leak a video of Montana allegedly getting “knocked out.”

“French Montana, bitch ass ni**a. Listen bro, get out of your feelings,” said Thug. “I’m only speaking from an artist standpoint. You do not have nowhere no more hits than Kendrick Lamar whatsoever. You probably won’t ever have more hits.”

“I don’t even talk to ni**as like you, bro,” he said in another video. “Stay in your lane, I’ll stay in mine. You not even on my level when it comes to getting no business handled or none of that. You a bitch, bro.”

In response, Montana took a few jabs at Thug for wearing women’s clothing in the “No Stylist” music video, and posted an alleged photo of him wearing lipstick. He also attempted to prove his point about Lamar by posting his hit list.

Montana also offered one million dollars for Meek’s alleged video of him getting knocked out. “This is me sober,” he told “The London” rapper. “You don’t wanna see me high like you. And if you find that footage from Meek, tell him I’ll give you an extra million dollars. On my son’s life, you get that footage, I’ll give you a million dollars.”

Thugger responded with a video of himself outside a house he claims was once owned by “Auntie French,” while Montana shared an alleged photo of Thug wearing lipstick. “This is not u neither?” he asked before challenging his rival to a battle. “THIS SHIT CRAY CRAY #moreinfluential #thatsafact PUT THAT BREAD UP AND BRING YOUR BEST 20 songs.”
